What does a wine writer do?

As a wine writer, you create content about wine tasting, wine making and production, and food pairings. Your responsibilities may include attending taste events at wineries, interviewing staff and winery owners, visiting restaurants with wine and food offerings, and exploring innovations in the industry. You may explain wine-making methods, visit conferences, perform online research, make connections in the wine industry, and review emerging wineries and wine makers. Your duties also include researching and sampling wine, writing columns, blogs, or articles for a magazine or newspaper, traveling to meet with experts and other wine writers, and keeping your knowledge and tasting abilities current.
