What does a weekend phlebotomist do?

Weekend phlebotomists draw blood and collect other samples from patients. They work on Saturdays and Sundays, either as part of their full-time shift, or they only work on the weekends for part-time work. In this role, you review the doctor's orders to determine what samples to collect and how much to gather. For example, when drawing blood, you may need to obtain multiple vials of blood so that the lab can test for many different types of illnesses or conditions. You confirm the patient's information, label the samples properly, and either test it immediately or send it to a laboratory for further examination.
