What does a weekend nurse do?

As a weekend nurse, you work part-time to cover the Saturday-Sunday shift. You perform all of the typical responsibilities of a nurse, providing quality patient care during the weekend. Your duties may include completing documentation, checking insurance information, preparing patients for assessment, gathering health history, assisting with patient movement, providing medications, and other clinical and administrative tasks. If you work the weekend shift at a long-term care center, you may develop relationships with the patients and families. You can also work at a hospital, nursing home, private practice, outpatient care facility, or provide in-home care.
