What does a video game tester do?

Video game testers play through a new video game as a user and provide feedback to the designers and developers involved in the game's production. As a video game tester, you go through each level of the game, playing just like a consumer. You may be asked to write bug reports for issues experienced while testing, such as glitches or odd events that occur during the game, using proper grammar and a professional tone. You are also asked for your honest opinion on specific details of the game; this requires you to focus on these aspects and communicate feedback regarding these things to the design and development team.
