What does a tile installer do?

As a tile installer, also known as a tile setter, your primary responsibilities are to measure, cut, and install tile flooring. You handle the prep work, which includes removing the existing floor, leveling the surface, cleaning the area, and shaping the tile. You lay the tile with mortar, add spacers, apply grout, leave a clean surface, and handle other construction duties. You may work with marble, granite, and other materials. A tile installer uses hand and power tools and communicates with the client to ensure project satisfaction.
