What does a remote medical scribe do?

As a remote medical scribe, your job is to take notes and help document each encounter a physician has with a patient. Unlike in-person scribes, remote scribes often transcribe comments from recordings provided by the physician rather than writing things down as they occur. You may add the notes to a chart, help investigate discrepancies in comments, or correct machine transcriptions. Remote medical scribes sometimes perform other clerical tasks to help reduce the time physicians need to spend on paperwork. Like all medical workers, remote medical scribes are responsible for maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality, which may require setting up a private work environment or remote office.
