What does a remote EMT do?

A remote EMT is an emergency medical technician that provides emergency medical services (EMS), often in rural or secluded areas. As an EMT, you administer first-aid treatment to people in your community. Your responsibilities include taking vital signs, performing CPR, and stabilizing a patient in the event of a life-threatening situation. As part of an emergency medical response team, you must adhere to a strict code of medical ethics and professionalism at all times. As a remote EMT, you may also undertake duties related to the maintenance of your ambulance. After gaining experience, you can complete additional training to become a paramedic, which allows you to administer more advanced treatment, such as starting intravenous lines.
