What does a Remote DBA do?

As a remote DBA, you work from home and provide database administrator services for a company. In this virtual role, your responsibilities may include helping to install and configure software on a computer, monitoring the data inside of a database, and designing ways to track the configuration and performance of a database. Remote DBAs frequently help upgrade systems, create users and permission levels, and use proactive scanning to check for problems. Remote DBAs may also configure backup systems, ensure the maximum possible uptime of the system, train new employees, and work with system administrators and development teams.
