What does a PostgreSQL DBA do?

As a PostgreSQL database administrator or PostgreSQL DBA, you build, maintain, configure, and repair PostgreSQL open-source databases. Other duties include deploying applications to help clients and employers use the database for their specific needs. You also update and secure the database’s network and server, respond to security alerts, and perform data back-up and recovery tasks. Your responsibilities often include working with a developer to program software and training employees to use database features. You are also expected to test and debug upgrades or changes to the database before deploying them.
