What does a plant worker do?

As a plant worker, your job is to perform a variety of tasks at a plant—a term best understood as a facility that creates or processes something, usually in bulk. The specifics of this job vary. For example, plant workers at a waste treatment facility may unload garbage from a vehicle, load autoclave bins, and scan for hazardous material that people threw away. Meanwhile, workers at a fish processing plant may cut, clean, and trim fish before packaging them for distribution. Plant workers often perform physical labor, operate machines, ensure the area remains safe to walk around in and manage storage containers. Many plant workers join industrial or laborers’ unions to protect their interests.
