What does a part time phlebotomist do?

Part-time phlebotomists have the same job duties as full-time phlebotomists; they draw blood and collect other samples from patients for testing or donation. The primary difference is part-time phlebotomists work thirty hours or less a week. The collected blood is sent to the lab for analysis; doctors request blood tests for patients to check on conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, and infectious diseases. As a part-time phlebotomist, you must ensure that the equipment you use is sterile, and you must be careful to label tubes correctly and avoid any cross-contamination. You also must be comfortable working with people of all ages, from newborns to elderly patients.
