What does a part time anesthesiologist do?

As a part-time anesthesiologist, you administer anesthesia to each patient in a hospital or surgery center and monitor them for the duration of their procedure. In this healthcare role, you coordinate patient care with physicians, determine whether local or general anesthesia is more appropriate, oversee nurses and other support staff, and otherwise support your department. Part-time anesthesiologists usually work in areas that have a lower volume of patients and do not need full-time staff, though, like most medical personnel, you may stay on call for emergencies and work full time or overtime as needed.
