What does a nurse assistant do?

A Nursing Assistant works to help provide patients with basic health care services and may help patients with daily activities, depending on the organization. Some common tasks that Nurse Assistants can help perform include cleaning or bathing patients, helping patients use the bathroom or get dressed, listening and recording patients' concerns and directing them to the doctor, taking patients’ vital signs, serving meals, and turning or repositioning patients. Depending on the state in which you work and the employer for which you work, Nurse Assistants may also be asked to help distribute medications. Nurse Assistants typically work under the supervision of licensed practical nurses or registered nurses.
