What does a machinist instructor do?

A machinist instructor teaches students the skills to become qualified machinists. As a machinist instructor, your job responsibilities are to teach students in a machinist apprentice program through a combination of class lecture and lab practice. Your job duties include preparing and teaching the curriculum, showing students machine parts and tools, demonstrating the proper setup and adjustment of equipment, and empowering students to operate machinist equipment safely and efficiently. You must also teach students how to read and interpret specifications to perform precision machine operations.
