The job of a machine operator is to setup, operate, and maintain machines to manufacture or fabricate products. Your responsibilities in this career include monitoring production and equipment, feeding automated machines with raw material or parts, calibrating and cleaning machines, and adjusting settings when necessary. Additional duties may include inspecting parts to verify precision, keeping records of both defective and approved products, and running operation tests. You should expect to learn and follow production procedures and safety regulations. You may also be required to read blueprints or schematics. It is important to have excellent analytical skills and physical strength. You must also be able to work on a team and always willing to learn and improve.
