An Oracle database administrator (DBA) oversees database operations and access for a company or client. A Junior Oracle DBA is an entry-level administrator who works with Oracle databases and related software and applications. Your duties in this position include configuring and updating software, performing backup tasks to save data, handling recovery responsibilities in the event of a server failure, and undertaking regular maintenance. Your duties include ensuring optimal performance and making changes when servers are slow. You also test applications and systems after making upgrades or improvements. A junior DBA works under the supervision of a senior IT manager or DBA.
