What does a home based video editor do?

Home-based video editors splice together different parts of video footage according to directions laid out by the project's producer, director, or writer. You may be an independent contractor and use your own editing equipment, or you may work for a production company that provides you with equipment. In this remote position, your primary responsibilities are to transform raw footage into a clean, finished video and ensure the final product meets your employer's requirements. You cut footage, manipulate dialogue and sound effects, add graphics and special effects as needed, rearrange scenes, create transitions, and prepare the film for final viewing. You may also provide advice on camera shots and angles to use to make the editing process easier.
