A hair stylist assistant works under the main hair stylist and provides support services, such as washing the client’s hair, mixing hair colors, stocks hair products at the station, and ensures the blow dryer and other devices work properly. Most hairdressers start their career as hair stylist assistants to gain experience working with clients while they are attending cosmetology school.
