What does a gymnastics instructor do?

A gymnastics instructor, also known as a gymnastics coach, has duties that include teaching gymnasts the basics of gymnastics, such as safety precautions, proper stretching, and foundation moves, hosting each gymnastics practice and competition, and helping the gymnasts on their team improve their skills. Your responsibilities also include scheduling practices with a gym, contacting students and their families about schedule changes or upcoming events, and traveling to gymnastics events with students or a team. Gymnastics instructors can work with children, adults, or a mix of ages, and you may work independently or for a school or community gymnastics team.
