The job description for a Fueler varies depending on the industry; a more general heavy equipment Fueler assists with refueling diesel trucks. Often called a Fuel Technician, the duties include supporting truck drivers and safely filling the vehicle tanks. The latter is easier said than done, as the equipment is often heavy, and the actual tanks are far off the ground. Fueler positions are also found within the aircraft industry. Aircraft Fuelers are responsible for more specialized tasks. Depending on the aircraft’s model, different types of fuel are demanded, and the materials can be hazardous. Your duties include transporting fuel to the plane, climbing ladders, connecting hoses, and facilitating the refueling process. You may also be tasked with general inspection and maintenance responsibilities.
