What does a fertilizer applicator do?

As a fertilizer applicator, your main duties are to prepare, mix, load, and apply fertilizers and other chemicals for application on lawns, gardens, or farmland. Although your primary role in this career is to deliver and apply fertilizers, most fertilizer applicators have many additional responsibilities, including maintaining the grounds, applying pesticides, planting and maintaining flowers, shrubs, and trees, and mowing. As a fertilizer applicator, you are also responsible for ensuring that your tools and equipment are in good working order and that all chemicals are safely in storage when not in use.
