A disability examiner oversees the processing of social security and SSI disability claims. As a disability examiner, your responsibilities include examining medical records and other relevant documents and assessing the application to determine if the claim is valid. You also must contact medical care providers to obtain records on the claimant’s behalf. Your job is to thoroughly examine each application and fairly assess whether or not the Social Security office should pay out the benefits.
