As a court runner, your job is to transport documents to or from a court. In this role, you may verify that you have the correct documents for a case or trial, gather additional information as necessary, and pickup and deliver materials on behalf of an attorney. Many court runners work for a law firm, though some operate independently. Understanding where and when to submit legal documents is essential to your success in this role. Despite the name, this job should not be confused with court assistants or administrative staff. Depending on the employer, you may also perform other office tasks, such as taking telephone calls.
