CT, short for computed tomography, refers to the equipment used to scan a patient’s bones and tissue. The job of a CT technologist is to operate CT equipment and diagnose medical conditions. On a daily basis, a CT technologist conducts CT scans (or CAT scans) using a computed tomography machine, reviews images, runs diagnostics tests and identifies health complications. A CT technologist is also called a radiology technologist and is trained to operate x-ray machines and mammogram equipment.
