What does a CAD drafter do?

A CAD drafter uses computer software to design and draw images of projects. In this career, your duties revolve around giving the building team an idea of what the product should look like in a set of cross-sections. You work directly with the computer program, sometimes using the aid of a graphic trackpad to make drawing easier. You read documents from the design team to get ideas on how a set of schematics should look and create the image based on the description. CAD drafter is one of the first entry-level jobs you can get in this field.
