A barber apprentice works in a barbershop while they learn how to perform barbering duties. Your responsibilities during this apprenticeship are to cut hair, shave client’s facial and head hair, and sterilize and clean scissors, clippers, combs, and other barber instruments under the supervision of a trained barber. Your other duties as you train include learning how to provide specific hairstyles for clients, sweeping the floors, cleaning barber workstations, talking to patrons to get more information about the services that they desire, ordering supplies for the barbershop, and maintaining clientele records.
