What is human factors?

Human factors are a category of jobs focused on studying, designing, and assessing products, environments, and facilities to improve the well being, productivity, or happiness of people who use them. As a human factors experts, you may focus on the physical, biological, or psychological health and well being of their subjects or target demographic. You study the interaction of people with a system, product, technology, process, or environment and use their findings to help the design or planning process. The goal of human factors on operations, design, and planning is to improve quality of life, productivity, safety, health, or other factors.
