What do vascular surgeons do?

Vascular surgeons are responsible for the diagnosis and management of disorders that affect a person’s vascular system, which includes arteries, veins, and the lymphatic system, but not typically those found in the head or heart, which are the responsibilities of heart or brain surgeons. As a vascular surgeon, your duties are to meet with patients who have been referred to you, help diagnose their condition, and determine the best way to treat the patient. This may include surgical procedures or other forms of treatment depending on the type of diseases you are dealing with.
