What does a pipe insulator do?

As a pipe insulator, you install or replace insulation around piping and other mechanical equipment, such as industrial ductwork. Your primary duties and responsibilities are to assess the size and scope of the work, consult with the contractor, project manager, or building owner about the cost of materials and labor, and then complete the job. Pipe insulators need to know the proper type of insulation for each type of job, relevant safety concerns and regulations, and the technical requirements for insulating different types of piping.
