What do forensic scientists do in the lab?

Career: Forensic Scientist

Using the physical evidence from the crime scene, it’s the forensic scientist’s job to extract as many clues from that item as possible. They analyze the evidence for the presence of any bodily fluids, tissue, or hair and perform a chemical extraction process to remove DNA from the stain. Once the DNA is obtained, the forensic scientist runs that DNA against the profiles of any people believed to be present at the scene of the crime and then generates a report detailing the findings.
