What is a mall security guard?

Mall security jobs focus on a variety of law enforcement and loss prevention tasks at a shopping mall. As a mall security officer, you may use cameras to watch for signs of crime or theft, patrol the interior and exterior of the property, guard a store during a special event, and respond to medical emergencies. In this career, you often act as a visible deterrent to crime, report suspicious activities, respond to alarms, manage crowds, and communicate with personnel at all levels. This position may be armed or unarmed and usually requires getting a license from the state before you can begin working.
