In a cyber security job, you help maintain digital security for an organization or business, such as a financial institution or health care provider that handles large amounts of confidential personal information. Your duties include performing security tests and performance analysis, developing new security protocols, and training other staff on best practices. People who work in cyber security may be employed directly by the organization, work for a consulting firm, or work on a freelance basis.
