What is a weekend companion?

Weekend Companions are individuals who provide social support, companionship, and sometimes basic assistance to clients, typically seniors or people with disabilities, during the weekends. Their responsibilities may include engaging in conversation, accompanying clients on outings, helping with light household tasks, and ensuring the client's well-being. Weekend Companions do not generally provide medical care but focus on improving the quality of life and reducing loneliness for their clients. This role may be offered through home care agencies or arranged privately by families.
