What is a shell fab?

A Shell Fab, short for Shell Fabricator, is a skilled tradesperson or technician who specializes in the fabrication of shell components, often for industrial equipment like pressure vessels, boilers, or storage tanks. They work with metal sheets or plates, shaping and assembling them to form the outer 'shell' of these structures using processes such as welding, cutting, and bending.
