Their responsibilities include pre-sedation assessment, continuous monitoring of vital signs, managing potential complications, and supporting patient recovery. Sedation RNs must have advanced knowledge of pharmacology, patient assessment, and emergency response. They typically hold certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
