What is scribe training?

Scribe training is a process where individuals learn how to accurately document patient encounters in medical settings under the supervision of healthcare providers. Trainees are taught medical terminology, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and the workflow of clinical environments. The training typically includes both classroom instruction and hands-on practice to ensure scribes can efficiently and accurately record information during patient visits. This role helps doctors focus more on patient care by handling much of the clerical and documentation work. Scribe training programs can vary in length, but most last between several weeks to a few months.
