What is an SCP?

SCPs, or Secure, Contain, Protect entities, are fictional objects, creatures, or phenomena cataloged by the SCP Foundation, a collaborative writing project and online community. The SCP Foundation is portrayed as a secret organization tasked with containing and studying these anomalies to protect humanity from their potential dangers. SCPs can range from inanimate objects with unusual properties to sentient beings and supernatural occurrences. Each SCP is assigned a unique identification number and detailed in a report outlining its characteristics, containment procedures, and background. The stories and documents are written in a scientific, clinical style, adding to the immersive world-building of the SCP universe.
