What is a PLMHP?
Career: Plmhp
PLMHP stands for Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. These are mental health professionals who have completed the necessary educational requirements, such as a master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field, and are working under supervision to gain the experience required for full licensure. PLMHPs provide mental health counseling and therapy services to individuals, families, and groups, but their practice is typically supervised by a fully licensed practitioner. This provisional period allows them to develop their skills and meet state requirements for independent practice.
