What is a PCT trainee?

A PCT Trainee is an individual undergoing training to become a Patient Care Technician (PCT). PCT Trainees learn to assist nurses and other healthcare professionals in providing basic patient care, such as taking vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, and monitoring patients’ conditions. This role is typically an entry-level position in a healthcare facility, and trainees often work under close supervision while gaining hands-on experience. After completing their training, they may be eligible to become certified Patient Care Technicians.
