To become a pacemaker technician, one typically needs a high school diploma or equivalent, followed by specialized training or certification in cardiac device technology. Many employers prefer candidates with knowledge of medical electronics, troubleshooting skills, and certification from organizations such as the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE).
