What is an OB scrub tech?

OB Scrub Techs, also known as Obstetric Scrub Technicians, are specialized surgical technologists who assist during obstetric procedures, particularly childbirth-related surgeries like cesarean sections. They are responsible for preparing and maintaining the sterile field, passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring all surgical tools are accounted for before, during, and after the procedure. OB Scrub Techs work closely with nurses, obstetricians, and other medical staff to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby during delivery.
