What is Nevada Solar One?

Nevada Solar One is a large solar thermal power plant located near Boulder City, Nevada. It uses concentrated solar power (CSP) technology, specifically parabolic trough mirrors, to generate electricity by heating fluids that produce steam to drive turbines. The plant has a capacity of about 64 megawatts and began operation in 2007, making it one of the first large-scale solar thermal plants built in the United States in recent decades.
