MFTI stands for Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. These are individuals who have completed their educational requirements for becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and are now gaining supervised clinical experience required for full licensure. MFTIs work under the supervision of licensed therapists to counsel individuals, couples, and families, focusing on improving relationships and addressing mental health issues. They must complete a set number of supervised hours before becoming eligible to take licensing exams and practice independently.
