What is an MFM RN?

An MFM RN, or Maternal-Fetal Medicine Registered Nurse, is a specialized nurse who works with obstetricians and perinatologists to care for pregnant patients experiencing high-risk pregnancies. These nurses provide monitoring, education, and support to patients with complex health issues such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, or fetal anomalies. MFM RNs assist with ultrasounds, fetal monitoring, and coordinate care among different healthcare providers to ensure the best outcomes for both mother and baby.
