What is library and information science?

Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals are experts trained to manage, organize, and facilitate access to information resources in libraries, archives, and other information centers. They help individuals and organizations find, evaluate, and use information effectively, whether in print or digital formats. LIS professionals also develop information systems, teach information literacy skills, and curate collections to support learning, research, and community needs.
