What is an IPC?

IPCs, or Infection Prevention and Control professionals, are specialists responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring procedures to prevent and control infections in healthcare and other settings. They work to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections by promoting best practices in hygiene, sterilization, and disease surveillance. IPCs also educate staff, patients, and the public about infection prevention measures and may be involved in outbreak investigations and policy development.
