How to get an entry-level security clearance job?

Career: Entry Level Security Clearance

Individuals cannot apply for a security clearance on their own. For jobs that require a security clearance, you must either already hold one or be able to obtain one. Your employer, either a government department or a government contractor, will help you with the process of getting a security clearance after you are accepted for the job. Typically, you will start work on a conditional basis while your security clearance is being processed. Obtaining the clearance requires passing a background investigation and signing a non-disclosure agreement. You will also have to renew your clearance periodically.
