How to get a classical music job?

Career: Classical Music

There are several ways you can start a career in classical music. Many start their careers by taking low-paying or unpaid gigs to gain experience and build a substantial portfolio. Orchestras require musicians to try out for positions in the performing group. Music teachers must have a mastery of the instrument they teach and develop an effective teaching style for different age groups. To work in public schools, music teachers must also have a degree and a teaching license, while college professors typically need a master's degree or doctorate. A director or conductor must have an immense breadth of knowledge regarding most classical music and know how to arrange different scores.
