How to become an RHIT?

To become an RHIT, you first need an associate degree in health information technology or a closely related subject from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education. In addition to your educational qualifications, you must have experience as a medical records or health information technician before you can begin the certification process to become an RHIT, which involves passing an exam. Other skills you need to be a successful RHIT are good analytical thinking, strong verbal communication, and being detail-oriented.
