How to become an optical assistant?

Career: Optical Assistant

Like a career in any healthcare field, on-the-job training and certification is necessary. Educational qualifications generally include a high school diploma or associate degree, and experience in an optical technician training program. Additional voluntary certification may be available through continuing learning education departments to progress in the field. Through these programs, you learn eye anatomy, medical terminology, and gain clinical experience. Internships are available in schools for you to hone patient interaction skills. Some states may also require licensure to practice, which must be renewed every few years.
